Frequently Asked Questions
How do I secure a private hire booking?
A non-refundable £100 booking fee is required at the time of booking to reserve your
date and time slot. You will receive an email confirmation once your fee is received.
This fee will be deducted from your final balance.
When is the final balance due and how much is it?
The final balance of £230 is due on the day of your private hire. This includes unlimited
squash for the children.
How many children can attend a private hire party?
You can have up to 100 children attending your private hire event.
Are food and drinks included in private hire?
Exclusive hire includes unlimited squash for children, but no food, other drinks, or decorations. You can bring your own food with prior agreement or choose between a Buffet Basket or Cheese and Tomato Pizza with Chips Basket on the booking form at an additional cost of £5 per person. All drinks must be purchased from Play Cafe; outside drinks are not permitted.
Can I bring my own decorations?
You’re welcome to bring decorations such as balloons or banners, but please do not stick anything to the walls. Party poppers or cannons are not allowed.
What if I need to change the number of guests?
Please inform us of any changes to your group size at least 48 hours before your booking.
What happens if the Play Cafe cancels my booking?
If we must cancel your booking for any reason, your booking fee will be refunded in full.
What if I need to cancel my booking?
The booking fee is non-refundable. However, subject to availability and at our discretion, we may be able to transfer your booking to a new date within 30 days of the original.
How long is the private hire party?
Your private hire lasts 2 hours, from your confirmed time slot (usually 4:30pm–6:30pm),
including use of soft play and the cafe area. Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes
early.
Can I bring a birthday cake?
Yes, you may bring your own birthday cake. Please be mindful of allergens and use candles only (no sparklers). We cannot store, serve, or cut your cake due to allergen laws, but we will provide a cake knife, matches for lighting candles, napkins, and
plates.
Is the Play Cafe open for general admission during my private hire?
No, the cafe is exclusively yours during your private hire and closed to the public.
Are there any rules party guests need to follow?
All guests must adhere to Play Cafe’s general rules of play, including wearing socks at all times.
